Mobile Marketing Guidelines for Promotion of Alcoholic Beverages

Text campaigns, or any marketing promotion alcohol for that matter should be carefully considered and executed? The Mobile Marketing Association’s five rules regarding the promotion of alcohol in text message advertising are as follows.

1) Text message advertisements with ”soft alcohol” promotions such as beer and wine are generally allowed.

2) Text message advertisements that will contain hard alcohol promotions should only be marketed in locations that have age verifications, such as bars or nightclubs.

3) No text message advertisements should ever directly promote the use of or consumption of alcohol.

4) No text message advertisements should mention or imply alcohol abuse or over-consumption.

5) If you are advertising any type of text message contest, the prize may not be any type of alcohol or alcoholic beverage.
